Biography: 7/2007My body materialized in Muscatine, Iowa on the day of January 7, 1975. Muscatine is a Mississippi River town in which most of my family still lives. My parents and uncle run a successful sewing / vacuum / fabric store called Neal's in the downtown of this quaint community. In 1993 I moved to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa where, in 1997, I received a BFA in Painting. After graduation, I spent one year working as a picture framer and one year working as a pre-press operator at a print shop. These diversions didn't keep me from putting all of my energy into creating and showing my art and music. In 1999, I moved (with 4 members of my former band "L'og") to Oakland California. My move was encouraged by my acceptance into the graduate program at Mills College. I attended Mills College for two years in the middle of which I began teaching at the City College of San Francisco. I graduated from Mills in 2001 with an MFA in Electronic Arts. Realizing that teaching was something that I enjoyed I have made it my other (with artmaking) job. For two years I taught classes at the City College of San Francisco, Berkeley City College (formerly Vista College) in Berkeley, and California State University, Hayward. I still teach part time at the City College of San Francisco but my current teaching focus is at an amazing high school called Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco. I teach some very fun electronics classes at this high school. My current home is in San Francisco. I live there with my wonderful wife Melissa Prest and our two cats. My studio is at 1777 Yosimite Ave in the Bayview district. I currently play in a band with 3 of the original members of L'og. Though the current band does not have a name you can hear a demo recording of "Chromedome" or "Goblinsex." Samples of "L'og" can be found here: "Cum in my Haus" and "2x4x10" or for the hardcore fan "Sobered Up and Jammed" is one of our final unreleased songs.
