Serving Suggestion

2026

Painted PETG, Raspberry Pi, E ink display, Button.

Serving Suggestion is an interactive soup label generator that produces some of the wildest soups you can imagine. Created specifically for a show at the Great Highway Gallery, the piece complements and offers ideas to the soup restaurant next door, Rusty Ladle. Each time a viewer presses the button, a random soup is generated and displayed on a small e-ink screen. The soup is either a literal combination of unlikely items (like rubber duck and chess piece soup) or a conceptual take on a life situation (like sibling rivalry stew). The piece uses an LLM API, making the soup combinations nearly infinite.
