Open Fung visits the Sustainable Design class

Did you know that there’s some amazing folks running an Oakland non-profit dedicated to bringing fungi tools and techniques to the people? Open Fung co-founders Philip Ross and Rachel Linzer visit the Sustainable Design class to talk about the unique possibilities for artists, designers, and engineers to use fungi as a building material. Students passed around everything from buoys for the bay to leather to filled wood panels, all made with mushroom roots. Ideas are growing!
