Soup Sculptures: Creative Making at the Great Highway Gallery November 15th 3-5pm
Galactic Mirage: Celestial Nebula Noodle Soup? Rubber duck and chess piece soup? Are those real concoctions? Let’s make them together! Join artists Andrew Kleindolph and Mel Prest for a special soup sculpture event! Inspired by Kleindolph’s generative soup artwork, participants will interpret and create sculptures based on different outlandish soup ideas. We will use nontoxic and/or reclaimed materials, such as self-drying clay, sparkles, water soluble paint, yarn, and anything else we can think of to create new, human-generated artwork. These artworks will be on display in the front window of the Great Highway Gallery after the event. No experience needed, just show up with a sense of adventure and will meet you with some fun prompts.
$10 material fee will cover all materials, including a complementary bowl to take your “soup” home in later. Open to folks 16 and older. Younger OK with parent.
